Why do boardercollies have such high foreheads? Is it really because it's where the smarts is stored?

It's just a pug-tier skull deformity

Every border collie I know has severe OCD. If you introduce them to a laser pointer once they become extremely obsessed with points of light. People seem to have mistaken canine ocd/autism for intelligence because they assumed that "doing what i say because i say it, when i say it, without hesitation or backtalk because i am clearly the master" is the smartest thing a dog could do.

border collies are legit dumb. ive seen them get stuck in corners.

they're a single purpose slave dog. serious k9s that need to really be smart, thoughtful, and in control of themselves are almost always retrievers.

You say that, yet they are food driven enough to break out of a locked house, smell the scent of push chair half a mile away and navigate an entire city block to lock in on their target.

Seethe all you want but pitbulls are the canine equivalent of smart munitions.

Border collies have never been the smartest dog breed. Anyone who interacts with them knows this.

They have a severe obsessive disorder. If you use a laser pointer to play with a border collie, they are some of the few dogs that are consistently mentally absent enough to fall for it, and then they become obsessed with points of light.

They do not obey because they are intelligent. They obey because they are born mindbroken and then trained. It is not rational, intelligent behavior to obey a human "because dey ta massa".

The whole world is a bunch of clickbait blogs repeating a discredit article no one in academia takes seriously

A large portion of the world also believes evolution is fake and every wild animal was created as is a few thousand years ago, that cats exterminate rodents, and hoping people get better cures illnesses.

That's not really what they do though when they are working. I mean yes they must obey but that's hardly the whole picture. You might give them one single command to run out in a certain direction and they go out through a couple fences down through a gully up a big ass hill and approach stock that they have clearly lost sight of on the way from the side you said initially. Then they'll keep a constant eye on you and work with you staying in line as you move down another ridge. Being alert for and responding to any more directional commands and your movements. And keeping a whole lot of mad sheep from running in 10 different directions. They aren't blindly following commands, they are working with you as a team to achieve a goal.

If you got a different dog clever enough to do it better I'd love it see it!

You wouldn't like it if they turned those eyes on you. Farm dogs are tough man. This is one of my old dogs. He would launch himself straight at a 2000lb bulls head and bite him on the forehead to turn him

Being intimidating to livestock is a big part of their job. Granted these are heading dogs not so much border collies anymore. They are border collies with 100 years of selection to work on hard country in New Zealand. They are probably quite far removed in a lot of subtle and less subtle ways from a border collie who is bred to be a pet

At its core its just normal obedience turned way up with obsessive tendencies. herding is instinctive behavior, part of prey drive.
