I greatly doubt that the blue whale is the largest animal to ever exist and i despise how scientists of authority state that it is with such certainty

some dinosaur or some other aquatic being.
less than 1% of species to have ever existed have a member become fossilized. It's crazy how biologists just declared the blue whale is the largest

I would follow the lead of Roger Tory Peterson.
Many writers or reporters wrote of Archaeopteryx as "the first Bird". In his writing for "The Birds" volume of the "Life Nature Library" in the 1960's, he wrote of the Archeopteryx as the "Earliest known Bird".
With the "earliest known" qualifier, it marks it as correct at the time, while acknowledging that it is subject to change.

With a bit of added contemporary reference, we probably should label the Blue Whale as "the largest animal currently known to have lived".

Because "the largest animal to have ever existed apart from some purely theoretical animal which we dont have a shred of evidence for the existence of but might have existed at some point maybe somewhere" is too long.
That, and is also retarded.

There could be giant creatures under the ocean and we wouldn't know it. 80% of the ocean is unexplored.
