It's got a lot of dog fatalities. I think after David and Moosie died they started enforcing leash laws and outright banned dogs from a lot of areas in the park.

This reminded me of an incident I read a long time ago where the road under a car fell through and the whole vehicle got buried in some kind of sewer ditch full of hot fumes that cooked the passengers alive. Im obviously misrememberng a lot but I'd appreciate it if someone can place the actual story because that shit sounds horrifying

Sounds like something that could happen in Naples where >>5009605 is from. Something like that happened nearly a decade ago where an entire family were walking when the ground opened up and they fell into a crater, killed by the heat and lack of oxygen from the fumes.
To be clear, the Yellowstone volcano is much larger than but not nearly as active as the Campi Flegrei. There are tremors and tiny minieruptions there all the time. Yellowstone last erupted 650,000 years ago. The Campi Flegrei had an eruption so massive about 500 years ago, that it made a new volcano, Monte Nuovo (literally "new mountain") and its ash decimated a town that had been in continuous habitation since before the Roman era. So thoroughly buried was the town that it still hasn't been rediscovered to this day.
No wonder Neapolitans are crazy. You fucking have to be to build cities on top of known supervolcanoes. At least Wyoming has the good sense to be the most sparsely populated state in America.

The brightly vivid colouration in the boiling pools is caused by microbial mats. Literally piles upon piles of microbes so thick they form a visible layer of yellow, red, slime.
The bison will be boiled down into mush and that much will practically disappear before ones' eyes as it's eaten voraciously by the microbes. In such extreme conditions an event like this is an extravagant feast.

i wish browns were afraid to visit this shit. i went last year for the first time in ~15 years and all of the major grammable attractions are full of asians and jeets. A lot of the less well known springs are still white only though. the boardwalks around grand prismatic are dogshit desu. gotta go up fairy falls trail which filters the obese and foreigners though it's also very busy now. Most of these high angle pics of grand prismatic you see are taken from that trail.

I also saw a negroid in the middle of summer wearing boxers, a wifebeater, an ushanka and unlaced combat boots carrying a handle of vodka in one hand and a jug of red drink in the other near old faithful lodge. i expect this shit in the city but why the fuck are you doing this at yellowstone

Why would brown people be scandalized by a creepy radioactive pond? They probably have more of that in their countries and worse. Also if you are from the same country as AIDS springs you have no right to complain about Asian tourists. The average citizen is browner than them, and much less civilized I bet.
