>getting ready for bed
>hear what sounds like metal getting scratched coming from my back patio
>probably something sniffing around my grill since I made burgers earlier and hadn't cleaned the grates
>turn on the patio light to see what's out there
>only see a massive pink tail finish turning the corner before it vanishes from view
How big can these trashrats get? I live in the southeast USA
>>5012193 (OP)Big enough to make many folk properly terrified of them.
Possums are native wildlife to the region, arguably kinda cute and they don't hurt anybody. They have extremely short lifespans, they only live 1-2 years at most as adults.
It genuinely pisses me off when I see the corpse of one as roadkill, because you just know if it was a stray cat who ran out into the road (who are invasive apex predators who absolutely decimate the native ecosystem) the driver would scream bloody murder and put their vehicle in the ditch before killing the heckin kitterino
Everyone gets their idea of what creatures deserve to live or die from the TV screen
>>5012193 (OP)They eat ticks
They are on the side of good
>>5012203>They eat ticksNo.

>>5012202I have ran one of these over (and sparred another one) while driving. They are very slow and cross the road late at night no one is making the decision to kill an opossum when they are crossing the street.
>>5012202You're genuinely a retard. Possums and armadillos suck dick at crossing the road. If you've never seen a cat hit by a car you dont leave your house.
>>5012193 (OP)>trashratsAin't that just what regular rats are?
When possums get fat, a lot of it goes to their tails. This can affect the animal's dexterity if it is especially obese. You're in the South; a lot of retards throw out perfectly edible food here, so the possums get fat as fuck. I saw a real goddamn heifer of a possum outside my buddy's house a while ago.
>>5012866are possums known for being "dexterous" in the first place?
>>5012867Sure. They use their tails as an extra limb for climbing, and they have thumbs on their hind feet.
>>5012193 (OP)I had one that lived in my backyard and he'd let me walk right to him. Was he retarded or was he tamed?
>>5012881There are a couple in my back yard that let me. Get fairly close to them.
>>5012193 (OP)They're harmless but don't leave food out if you don't want them scavenging it.
>>5012198Just feed it some junk food. It will get diabeetus and dia.
>>5012941Junk food together with vaccination are (((purposefully))) being done to Deagel Americans. Perhaps then the possums shall get spared.
>>5012941 Feed it pro nutrition instead of junk and it grow big scary.
