>woke up this morning, cat gone
>he strangely wasn’t there last night either, but I was so exhausted I’d fallen asleep
>basically an indoors cat
>doesn’t go outside except to roll around in the yard
>doesn’t have teeth so I’m worried if he runs into any danger
>live in suburbs but there’s also woods behind my house
>in the past my roommate has “accidentally” left him in a closet
>this time my roommate probably left the house and said she might have left the door ajar
>checked all closets of the house, underneath, around the woods, left a hoodie with my scent on the porch since this morning before going to work

Any other ideas :’(

Thank you, but that’s just a random pic. I read online cats will just randomly return weeks later; can that happen here? I’m leaving in two weeks for a month-long trip :/

When I was around 5 our cat who also spent all of her time indoors escaped and came back a few weeks later, if they don't become roadkill or coyote chow they should come back.
Also I think I remember hearing that cat's hide away if they feel they are sick if your cat is really old that could be the case.

He’s only 2 years old, I’m really anxious that if he comes back weeks later I literally won’t be home

Omg I found him! He was hiding under a porch a few houses down. There’s been foxes and stray dogs about, I passed the porch yesterday but he might not have been there or too scared. This time at the porch I saw movement and I thought it could have been him and he finally responded when I got close enough. Thank you /an/ :’)

My cat chases the foxes around, they have fun together

It's gray foxes though, they are smaller and mostly eat insects and rodents, cat is too pointy to bother with.

Use every generic resource used in your area to exhaustion from calling every vet in the area if cat is microchipped to every animal shelter twice a day to posters everywhere to neighbors to nextdoor/facebook/local news instagram/etc apps. Post reward if found etc
