I once saw a coyote attack a woman and her dog (mostly her dog, I assume, but she was still there). I suspect that she was hiding behind a car (this was in a park past midnight so she probably didn't like the large man and his dog being behind her) and this made her look like easy prey to the coyote. To be fair, she seemed to be since she ran directly towards another coyote until my dog and I ran the coyotes off.
