Well California is about to find out. I imagine it'll have some pretty tangible impacts on bird populations. California is already rapidly undergoing desertification ecosystem collapse along the west coast seems inevitable and progressively weirder shit is probably going to happen.

Maybe. Idk how much water acorns take but if it's anything like almonds or walnuts it's a lot. If a place is becoming more arid and there's less nuts that's less protein for the squirrels and they'll find a way to get it.
