Repubs whole post-Reagan ideology is to tear the us and it’s government down, or as they put it, drown it in a bathtub. They’re good at blowing up and trashing what has been built. But after they’ve blown up your old building, you don’t ask the demolition crew to build you a new building, you ask the construction crew to do it. Dems build systems, repubs destroy systems. Use both for their purpose. But jfc get a builder with an architect with a clear vision, like an AOC, or you end up with every construction worker building whatever random ass addition they want again like Biden. If Elon hadn’t fucked himself this would be his opportunity to be the builder of a new technocratic futurist USA in place of the old failing agrarian hodge-podge. But Elon is a shortsighted Silicon Valley bc investor after all, couldn’t help himself and went for the quick easy money & power grab, and it blew up in his face, so now both Trump and the Dems would be happy to destroy him given the time. It’ll prob take another Moonshot-like initiative to build what needs building. Repubs will complain, Dems will argue endlessly, our foreign trade & mil allies will prob not come back, and we’ll have a fraction of what we’re used to having to work with. Thems the breaks.
