>>935726678I'd wait. I bought it a year ago and it was already a bit outdated. It's nice because it has the Z8/Z9 sensor/quality in a small size, but the AE is lacking. I hardly ever use any of the tracking focus. I just pinpoint where I want the focus and use the AF button to set and then move the camera to where I want it framed. The next Z7 model will most certainly have a much upgraded AF system like the Z8/Z9.
I had a D3200 before with a kit lens so this is a real nice upgrade to learn on. I'll get something better later if it has the same footprint but better tech. Z8 is just too big to have as a dedicated camera, especially if you are new to photography and want to try everything. The Z7 will do that, but you will take more time with a lot of shots, or miss them.
