"Trans" is shorthand for "transitional", which means that they are in the process of changing, as in "not there yet". Truth is, because of genetics, they never will arrive at their destination. "She" will always be genetically a male. Only the outward appearance will change.

In my culture, we have the term "red apple". It refers to someone who is Native American on the outside, but White on the inside. Genetically they are Native American, but they think and act like White men. No amount of assimilation will ever make them White men, no matter how hard they try.
