I got put on probation in December for walking one door too far and opening it while drunk. The people were on vacation for a month and had left their door unlocked for the whole duration. But they had a ring doorbell camera and saw me open the door, step one foot in, and walk out. They did everything the could to try to get me in jail for the max sentence.

FF to today, and I have spent ~$1,000 on testing for probation. I have started working 6 8 hour days to keep up with bills. I have been on the straight and narrow. I went to work sick yesterday, got home at 6 PM, passed out at 7, and woke up at 10 AM today. I checked to see if my color was called, and it was - but for the first time since I started probation, it was limited testing hours between 6:30-9 AM. So now I have a missed/failed test I have to explain to my P/O.

The kicker is I'm willing to bet the $0.78 in my checking account that I'll be called to test again before my paycheck on Friday that I'll have to scrape together the $45 to do because they charge an extra $25 for any missed tests.

Anyone else feeling like no matter how positive you think, act, etc the world finds a way to sweep your legs from under you?

Unrel but any ways to make some money quick would be greatly appreciated. Already sold a bunch of my stuff and just need some money in case they call me. Plus having something to eat other than bean burritos would be nice lol

I've considered it, but in all honesty the probation is the biggest hassle, not to mention I did what I did and I'm accepting the consequences. The judge and prosecution was relatively nice to me. So long as I get through probation, it won't be on my record or anything like that.

What I do want advocate for is some kind of regulation on these damn tests. It seriously feels like they want to siphon as much money as they can from people to the point it feels like they'd rather see you fail or go broke trying. Money solves everything, at least here in Michigan.

Personally I don't see it as e-begging. Sometimes people get stuck in shit situations due to no fault of their own. I'm not one to divulge details due to the circumstances I'm facing but I was engaged for some time, or at least about to be and lost the love of my life. In a bit of a pickle in the legal sense due to a shared device thanks to the nature of my former job. Trusted someone I shouldn't have, and here I am. The light at the end of the tunnel for me seems to be growing dimmer and dimmer due to the justice system and its scare tactics. You however can still sail once these rough seas have passed.
