There was a time when I could bench over 200 lbs. Now I am just a fat fuck with a kidney infection.

Nice dubs and ya. Sadly getting older sucks. To quote a tv legend! Al Bundy. Its not gonna get any better it only gets worse with each passing day. As for the kidney infection, fallow dr's orders drink plenty of water and don't drink Booz , sodas, or teas or shit with real large amounts of sugars or fake sugars.. It will help lesson the time of the infection. I know use to get kidney infections all the time sadly.. anyways hope you feel better soon and just hang in there .. shit dose not get better but it also dose not get that much worse hopefully.

You know anon, it is surprisingly easy to get back in form.

Like 6 years ago I decided to get fit after being a fat fuck my whole life, and in a year I got the best shape I have ever been (4-packs all that shit).

Then due to stuff, I stopped exercising, started to eat garbage again, and quickly became a fat fuck again.

2 years ago I was thinking about the same: I could do almost infinite pushups, pullups, people sometimes actually came up in the gym saying that my workout routine is crazy - and now I'm a fat fuck again.

I was thinking: I could get fit once, I can do it again. After the first day of restarting I felt surprisingly good in my body, it barely ached. Well, the next 3 days it hit me, I was walking soreness. Anyway, I surprvived, and kept on going. And then 3 months later I had to use a belt again. Another 3 months later I could run 5k again, I got a V (I doubt I will ever get 4/6-pack again).

I managed to maintain it to this day. I have a pretty cool bicep (at least I like it), the V is still there, and today I ran about 7k after my regular workout.

I'm 39.

Just start with day 1... "again", if needed.

This is the best advice for fitness or any other goal, really. You can always start over.
