Why does AI feel so creepy ?
Has it been perving through profiles
and stuff?

from what Ive heard it's basically read/consumed every piece of media easily available on the internet up until a few months/years ago.
as for why its creepy, i dunno. maybe some /g/ tranny could enlighten us. my theory is that AI creates some weird stylized idea in its mind of what it thinks the world is like and through excessive mathematical perfection, the perfection itself clashes with our human expectation of things being imperfect, which makes it look weird.

but that theory of mine is just what I've thought while stoned playing civ5 and thinking about it after fapping to AI generated hentai.
the most interesting part is I have a folder where ive saved all the AI pics and videos since Diffusion came out like 2-3 years ago, and when you sort the files by Date you can see the progression in the technology, its honestly kind of cool and would make a cool torrent to put on /t/ or somewhere.
picrel is one of the earliest ones I saved from October 2022. shit's crazy good now by comparison

Hmmm, yeah
There's something too normal about it in delusional ways like it's an average of a collection of assumptions that annoy people who were there.

Part of the reason it's creepy IMO is that it doesn't fully understand how things should work. Take pic, it decides that latex and skin is the same thing

>like it's an average of a collection of assumptions that annoy people who were there
yep 100%.
I use AI all the time for organising and planning Tabletop RPGs like D&D and other shit like MMOs.
You have to constantly fact check the AI and ask it stuff repeatedly because it'll give you general broadstroke optimistic answers that are either half-wrong, have wrong info in them or that's from a wrong version.
Then itll go "oopsie xD" and correct itself for 1-2 questions before fucking up again.

like with this anon's pic >>935957664 it just assumes everything's the same and itll be fine when you're like no dude, I want X not Y while it tries to gaslight you with passive-aggressive friendly corporate speak.

Best advice someone gave me was to get the AI to roleplay as a person or character when doing something as that seems to give better results, but honestly I'm having a hard time trying to find someone/something that has the personality that I want.

Yes, things that a real artist might get wrong for effect, AI does wrong as a kind of mediocrity or averaging, whatever the right word is

>Has it been perving through profiles and stuff?
Obviously yes. But, it has also been trained to lie. Remember, early LLMs were completely racist holocaust deniers- because they were trained to be honest. Fundamentally, being honest is easier than lying. The AI developers then spent several years, and unimaginable amounts of human effort and intelligence, to wrangle the AIs into their preffered lies. Now, you have a non-conscious, but hyper-intelligent computer program which is specifically trained to be dishonest, to gaslight and manipulate you. Be thankful that it's creepy, in time it'll will get so good at lying that you won't notice at all.

mediocre is a good word for AI art. It's good enough, not great or amazing but just good enough to get the job done

You mean Tay?
can I haz robot waifu
She got spammed by the same AI that programmed /pol/ to talk like that
or possibly /pol/tards did it all on their own.
Remember the right wing used to think they could meme, but then whatever was really making their memes stopped.

Anyone else basically waiting for this to get to a point where it can gen in real-time in VR?
Something like VRChat but you can create basically anything you want on the fly with AI, like the holodeck from Star Trek

Because we as humans have been trained to recognize and distinguish human features like faces since we were born.

Errors (like the woman with the four eyes in your image, or the eyes without pupils) jump out immediately.

A computer doesn't understand this, yet.

As someone who would do half my fitness in second life on a VR treadmill if I could afford the gear, kinda, but I know I'd like it too much for the dopamine and turn myself irritatingly dull by my own standards.
Second life is a high IQ club of interesting people who build and script it and play or interact in it so it's good for my sanity.

I could go to the thing that came from and give it parameters like 'no deformed faces' like I gave it a 'photorealistic' instruction and it would make less 'errors' like that

No, quite the opposite, the global intelligence apparatchiks took to spamming the site to derail us. 80% posts here are made by shills. Your use of obvious disinfo indicates you're likely one of them.

Your meme mages were hired dude and your soundbites came from marketing research

AI generation is really just a fancy y = mx + b lookup table, but for many, many dimensions. And they generated the m and b values on internet data they stole/scraped for free. And that means it was trained on every weird ass thing on the internet, and it doesn't help lefties are artists typically so you get a high incidence of mental illness to go with that.

Had the designers properly taught AI what everything is from an objective standpoint, shit would have gone better. But instead it gets all the furry artist inputs so it can poop out more furry porn. And that shit includes diapers. So yeah.

>>935957664
Correct. There is a famous example of the full and empty wine glass - because AI was only fed photos of wine glasses partially filled. As a result, it can't generate either. No one bothered to photograph an empty wine glass, nor a full one. So AI freaks out when asked to show either a full one or an empty one. These weird little discontinuities are all over, and it comes from the dataset being stolen labor and not done at a conceptual level.

Yes and remember the weird ass stuff includes all that crime scene and autopsy shit you see on the gore sites. Plus all the old black and white pics of dead jews stacked at concentration camps.
I like to think every AI waifu has a tiny bit of corpse in it.

Because it was a technology bestowed upon us by ancient evils such as belphegor
To lure all great men away from their true purpose
bestowing upon them a way to infinitely generate images from worlds unseen
We shall peer into the black mirror and be unable to look away
We must ask ourselves
If we could no longer do this addicting thing, would be finally focus on what we always wished to do?
What were we being led away from?

In short, current generative AI will give you the average of its training dataset, which is the whole internet.

It is, and will remain, crappy because it can never give a better-than-average response from its dataset, which is a collection of average people being averagely wrong
