GF has been disappointing for a long while mainline series because of the aforementioned. Meow unironically was on consultation with Nintendo before they decided to go for Arceus (so to iron out what was needed for S/V) and GF lower staff was having a real hard time coming up with a good development approach that investors wouldn't be scared of. TBH Meow was extremely angry there wasn't a real mainline 3D camera look wherever they want game yet
