I was trying really hard not to bring this up. But I look at Garfield and I just can't not bring it up. These cat dreams I've been having are starting to get to me.

Like, I wasn't even fully asleep yet. I was just in that daydreaming phase of trying to fall asleep. I pictured myself as a cat curled up in a tree when an eagle flew in and bit my tail.

However muted the sensation was.... I felt it.

In the three months that I've been dreaming off and on about being a cat, I've always pointed to my inability to move my tail as proof that these dreams were false and not some sort of proof of past lives, other worlds, etc. After all, I have no muscle memory with which to move my tail, right?

But even during waking conscious, at least earlier when I was in a better mood, I could "feel" my tail swishing behind me.

(I know I'm crazy. It's just kind of a matter of *how* crazy.)

It's not the first time that *something* like this has happened to me. I used to have a recurring dream of witnessing a plane crash.

Every time it would happen, I would wake up feeling like it was a premonition. I would get nervous the next day if I saw a plane in the sky. Then days would pass and my rational mind would catch up with me.

My dreams follow a weird sort of logic. Like, if I dream about a dragon, it's going to be an animatronic dragon. If I dream of a ghost, it's going to be a holographic projection. Presumably, they would be in theme parks or used to promote movies. These things have existed in my dreams the way that they would "exist" in the real world.

But to dream of coming back from the dead as a magical being has opened up a new door. Things appear in my dreams that don't appear in real life because they *fit* the continuity.

I've battled a samurai who mistook me for a demon.
I've rescued the people of a bronze age world from a skeletal overlord.
I've transformed from one animal to another.

One thing which keeps me in check is how inconsistent it is. My proportions are inconsistent. I'm taller, shorter, chubbier, thinner. My fur is yellow in one dream and orange in another.

My dreams are directly influenced by the events of the day. I see a robot toy in a theme park gift shop and I fight that robot in my dream. I hear Eye of the Tiger on the radio and I dream of transforming into a tiger and taking a swipe at a guy who is trying to hurt me.

If not for that, I think I would legitimately believe at this point that this cat persona was my "true" self.
