And then I saw murders, suicides, and overdoses. A lot of mentally unhealthy people getting pushed over the brink by 4chan.
I had to take a break around 2020ish. Coming back only recently.
And it's changed a lot in the meantime. It's no longer the wild west of the internet. No raids, no calls to torture already extremely disturbed people (like Chris).
But that being said, the streak of brilliance is gone also. It's just another forum, honestly quite inferior to reddit at this point.
Even though I absolutely never fucked with Chris, I felt complicit in the way a lot of these people's lives turned out just sheerly by coming here and posting regularly.
Sure, I believe in online freedom. But there will be casualties of it, Chris being a great example... but I think the bigger failure was his parents never instilling any notions of normalcy.
