Put a shallow pan of dish soap and water on the floor. Place a light directly above the water/soap pan. A desk lamp with a gooseneck works best for adjusting.
Turn all other lights off in the room. The fleas will leap into the pan and die. This won't get rid of all of them, but it'll make other measures a lot more effective.
