>>936223493Well its a bit more convoluted than that, but basically. I worked at an upscale department store, selling shoes. The price of shoes was on average about 170$, a few even went up to 500$ for a pair.
I go into work, and my manager calls me over to ask me about a customer. Apparently I sold him size 8.5 when he needed size 8 (I'm still pretty sure I grabbed an 8 but whatever). They "had" to give him 20% off of his shoes and also a collection of cosmetic items for the bride (he was going to a wedding or something). I remember it very distinctly: "BBJ, we lost $34 on those shoes."
Mind you, this was directly after starting my shift, so the day was off to a pretty shit start. Then I had my performance review. "BBJ, you've been late one time, and you haven't sold our store credit card... you also don't cold call customers" (Both of which were practices we were required to do). so great, another straw on my back.
Then, both of the managers went home for the day, and I was left with one other coworker, with my work bestie "coming in just 30 minutes". Things are looking up, but at this point, I'm considering leaving already. Lo and behold, my work bestie doesn't come in today.
I tell my lone other coworker that I was contemplating quitting, and he said he was gonna put his two weeks notice in over the weekend.
At that point, I was like... fuck it. So I just bid my goodbye and left at 6pm, when I was supposed to close at 9pm.
