>>936227930So let me get this straight—you go to school, bust your ass, rack up debt, pass the NCLEX, get licensed as a fucking RN... and now you’re expected to do CNA grunt work because “not everywhere has CNAs or PCTs”?
Then why the fuck do CNAs exist? Why even have roles and scopes of practice if the system’s just gonna dump it all on the RN the second they’re short-staffed? I didn’t go to school to be a CNA. I didn’t pay thousands, study diagnostics, pharmacology, care plans, wound vacs, and IV pumps just to be wiping ass for $30 an hour because someone couldn’t hire a tech.
You don’t hire a mechanic to sweep the damn shop floor.
You don’t pay an architect to haul bricks.
So don’t hand me that “sometimes you just gotta” bullshit—that’s not flexibility, that’s exploitation.
If you’re gonna justify burning out RNs by saying “not everywhere has support staff”, then maybe the whole system is broken, not the nurse.
Don’t tell me I “don’t have the tolerance” for it because I expect to do the job I trained for. I’m not soft—I’m just not a fucking fool.
Call the job what it is. If you're gonna have RNs doing CNA work, then stop pretending it's a specialized, professional career. Own the bait-and-switch. But don't act like I’m the problem because I know my worth.
