paying a professional to turn you retarded
so you mean grabbing someone by the neck and violently yanking it until their bones crack might be dangerous?

My mom used to take me and my brother and herself to the chiropractor when I was in high school, no idea why she decided to.

Last time I stepped out of that place I was following an ambulance to the hospital cuz they had fucked her back up or something. Don't recall it ever doing me any favors, either. Quack medicine, bunk science.

imagine paying a guy to turn you retarded and he just sends you to the hospital with a hurt back instead. what a ripoff!

It was years ago but as I recall the shit was ridiculously expensive per visit, too.

The first red flag should have been the poster on the wall "debunking" anti-chiropractic myths and explaining how it definitely was a real medical field.

>bunk science
There's literally no science to it. That's the problem. It was just founded by a quack and the whole industry "licensing" is run by equally retarded and medically unqualified people.

Medical doctors kill people and cause permanent problem in patients too.

I knew a guy who became paralyzed from the waist down saving someone from falling to their death. He grabbed him as he was falling and it caused his spine to get injured. Anyways doc said he’d be in a wheelchair the rest of his life. So in desperation we went to some chick who does massages. She got him walking again. Not the only man or woman we see her put back on their feet. Albeit he suffers severe back pain but he’s walking still and was able to find a better line of work. Some people got some weird ass magical powers, some other people get their expertise from a beijing wok shop.

One of my favorite past times at the bar is talking shit to chiropractors or their assistants.

Had a supervisor at work who's "respected uncle as the only doctor in the family" was actually a chiropractor and not a real doctor. He was in denial for weeks until he ultimately admitted it was true.

Watching the butthurt of chiropractors get told they're the same as acupuncture or a masseuse is the best mental anguish you can extract from another human.
>I'll have you know I am a real doctor!
>yeah sure thing bud, but it isn't for being a chiropractor, it isn't acknowledged by any medical science. So what's your real doctorate in? Veterinary science? Health sciences?

WTF how does someone set aside this much time of their life going into a scam degree field?

How can cracking backs be this inspiring to someone? Every single chiropractor should be rounded up and given psychological examinations

False. Its just poorly regulated. A good sport physical therapist will also do correct chiropractic adjustments.

False on the first part.
But yea there is a whole bogus “alternative medicine” scene around it with unqualified “licensed chiropractors”

If the person is not a literal doctor, dont trust it

Bullshit.
This helps a lot when done correctly and can minimize the need for surgical intervention.

>Watching the butthurt of chiropractors get told they're the same as acupuncture or a masseuse
Masseuses have a long history in many cultures of accumulated knowledge and a good working knowledge of skeletal/muscular anatomy and the nervous system based on actual medical text, as well as actual medical studies done to back up its benefits, so I wouldn't put them in the same category as chiropractors.
>So what's your real doctorate in? Veterinary science? Health sciences?
They also don't even have a real doctorate generally. They're only required a bachelor's, and it doesn't have to be in any even remotely medical field.

As an active spiritist, D. D. Palmer said he "received chiropractic from the other world"[17] from a deceased physician named Dr. Jim Atkinson.[18]

According to his son B. J. Palmer, "Father often attended the annual Mississippi Valley Spiritualists Camp Meeting where he first claimed to receive messages from Dr. Jim Atkinson on the principles of chiropractic."[19][20]

The knowledge and philosophy given me by Dr. Jim Atkinson, an intelligent spiritual being, together with explanations of phenomena, principles resolved from causes, effects, powers, laws and utility, appealed to my reason. The method by which I obtained an explanation of certain physical phenomena, from an intelligence in the spiritual world, is known in biblical language as inspiration. In a great measure The Chiropractor's Adjuster was written under such spiritual promptings. (p. 5)[20]

There actually is use for things like acupuncture and chiropractors alongside modern medicine. The main clinic I go to has a chiropractor office in it, he works directly with doctors and therapists, using medical imaging to make sure he won't destroy someone's joints or vertebrae by putting force where it shouldn't be put.

I can respect a chiropractor like that, one who won't take on patients that aren't referred by medical professionals.

That said, the vast majority are hacks, and you should never go unless cleared by your primary care provider at the very least. Unless, of course, you want to end up paralyzed or... vegetal lol
