why is social media just so...bad? it was neat, but now i see more political spam (far more from the right than the left), and less and less authenticity, even though that's apparently what we want.

both sides are evvil
the media hypes what they want you to focus on
it's all hype and little substance
why do you pay it mind?
why do you give it your attention?
do you know how to utilize ad blocks and filters?
learn if you don't.

let me say it this way
both "sides" are wings on the same bird driven by the same "head" (motives)
the only "side" you should choose is common sense, family, God, understanding, working towards peace, working towards your own goals (even if they are only goals of playing games and relaxing)
you should be on your own side
-
the media and government are not in line with life, dignity or hope
make your own choices, but don't be the fool following the pied piper to "a bad end"

that was too hastily typed, but the message is more or less accurate
you avoid them by devveloping filters in your mind or by ignoring them
they try to distort the truth in favor of an overarching global narrative meant to steer you to foolishness, falsehoods and ruination
tl;dr
just stop watching and listening to "official broadcasts" and most news in general
or use your mind to disccern fact from fiction
but i doubt you or anyone can do that well enough
pretty much assume everything you hear and read is a lie until proven otherwise

Welcome to /b/, honorable newfaggot. It appears you have concerns regarding the colorful language we casually employ. It’s a common misunderstanding that this reflects genuine belief. The consistent and widespread use of insults and slurs isn't (universally) intended to cause harm; rather, it functions as a deliberate attempt to neutralize their power through overexposure. The shock value is intentionally diminished by its ubiquity.

Furthermore, by interrupting the discussion to address stylistic concerns, you are mirroring the behavior you criticize. Focusing on the way something is said rather than what is being said detracts from any potential argument and prioritizes irrelevant factors--especially in a space where anonymity renders individual sensitivities largely inconsequential.

in my experience, the world is much more accommodating if you try to be nice.

i'll give a personal example. i had a long-term substitute teacher when i was 9 years old, as my then teacher's husband suddenly died of a heart attack. about 12 years later, i suddenly lose kidney function and i need a transplant or dialysis. this substitute teacher just so happened to work out at the same gym as my mom, and said she would donate a kidney to me. a few months later, she did. i've been healthy for the past decade thanks to her gift of life.

it can be, but "nice" varries, and sometimes puunching your best friend in the arm or kicking him in the balls and laughing is nice too
just saying
you lack real world experience and true manners and it shows

that story is something
and there was another image in another thread describing sudden heart attacks just a moment ago

anyways
glad you're "healthy" (?), hope you are
but this is not that
charity and polite behavior can go hand-in-hand, but this is not really that
you should match your immediate environment with respect, and honor it and what it demands of you
unless it asks too much
but man, if you can't take someone calling you names that says a lot about you

it's not that i can't take name calling. i was called names due to some other health issues that i had. i'm just trying to make you aware that if you use name calling, that does not look at the argument in any way, and is the worst mistake you can make, according to Graham's hierarchy of disagreement: https://www.logical-fallacy.com/articles/name-calling/

Name calling isn't necessarily ad hominum. It would be if we asserted that you were a fucking retard, and therefor your arguments are invalid. However, if a sound counter-argument is made or a fallacious point is highlighted, then one would be able to conclude that you were a fucking retard without ad hominum. The observation of retardation being a contributing factor to the poor argument is ancillary to the primary debate.

you spread pain here by not giving it ironically enough
so you make trouble here
not joking
you're like a guy walking up to a table and defecating on it
>i was called names due to some other health issues that i had
hey sorry to hear that. I think I understand now, but this isn't that anon
it's ribbing. it's good matured fun and proper etiquette here
>i'm just trying to make you aware that if you use name calling, that does not look at the argument in any way, and is the worst mistake you can make, according to Graham's hierarchy of disagreement
the problem with your assertion is I was not and am not utilizing namecalling to dismiss any argument or idea you presented
in fact, you're the one using it to dismiss my own arguments, which makes you the one acting fallaciously
it's like saying:
>y-you said a bad word!~
>t-therefore your argument is WORTHLESS!
it's a fallacy
you're dismissing me for speaking or typing in an offensive way in order to duck my argument
fake and foolish. it's hypocrisy. anon.

you use fallacies in reverse in order to dismiss others, or to have an excuse to at least...
again, namecalling is proper etiquette here

unfortunately for you, in many people's minds, this genuinely happens. i want to be kind about it here, in a place where (i assume) you seem to feel safe, because if you do this in real life, it might come back to hurt you. it might have already.

i apologize, i wish i could continue this discussion further, but i need to go to bed otherwise i will not be able to function on my next broadcast. i also apologize that i was not able to discuss every point. i doubt that we will speak again, but i truly wish that you have a wonderful life.
