What's it like first getting a job?
How does it go? I'm 20 and I haven't gotten one yet. I'm rather set back in life and probably either doomed to fail or the world is doomed to fail me, but nevertheless I've never given a job a chance yet and I need to at some point. I want to know your guys experiences and what kind of knowledge you started out with, to get an idea, because right now the very idea, with the void of knowledge I have, seems quite daunting. I can only hope for God's blessing in whatever path I choose in life.

The world cant "fail you" dont delude yourself in that and youll be fine, but it sounda like youre already there. Regardless i didnt read all that pathetic shit, just get a fucking job and do it...pretty simple.

To get many entry-level jobs at this point you don't need to be blessed with knowledge. If you show up to work on time and sober you're already ahead of more than half of your potential co-workers. Do the job with baseline competence, don't make the boss hold your hand all day every day, and keep a decent attitude and you'll be a rock star.

Alright. I assume I'd be fine then. I only asked because I am set back in a number of ways. I've been largely cut off from people my own age since the age of 14 because I started doing school from home, so I don't even have a refference. Getting a job is to enter into something for which I have aboslutely no familiarity at all, and I'm just unsure how much the average person does or if it's really important and significant at all.
I have the fundamental capability of retard maxxing so I'd guess I'm fine.

Nothing to be ashamed of. Lots of others have been where you are. With your (self-described) lack of knowledge and social skills, you're likely best suited for entry-level service jobs--think fast food or convenience store stuff--of as a staff writer at Salon. If you work at a Burger King you have the advantage of not having to hang your head in shame as the Salon writer does, so that's a plus.

Good luck.
