Some girls also make a great living, get famous, live a wonderful life. But is it worth it for a few to have a great life for the many to suffer great cruelty?

Made those sales from 2004 to 2005, damn. 20 years ago.. Anyways, I and my wife were working in strip clubs starting in 1998. In 2000 we started working with a stripper in the club that ran a couple of websites. I quickly realized I could easily get it done myself. Picked up a copy of Creative Suite, rented some server space and picked up some lights and camera gear and took off from there. Things weren't as out of the box just put your ass online then as it is now. We had 2 websites fail before we had one start making money, but that was inside of a 90 day span. But the guys we worked with were good to us and called us the minute it happened. Luckily we had enough to quickly get the capacity we needed. We quickly turned the new income into new content. I already figured out constant new content was the way to survive against our shit getting ripped and thrown up for free somewhere. That happened but wasn't as prevelent as it later became. We also toured strip clubs across the U.S. and Canada. Built up and carefully engaged a fan base. It really was a case of surprised by success and it hijacking our lives. I'd imagine winning a massive lottery ticket is about the same. We were lucky I had a plan for that. At our peak we had 12 full time employees including an IT crew of 4 guys. The rest were contractors, all "talent" were 1099 pay for play contracts. Paid only per scene. Porn doesn't do net, gross and definitely not residuals with the talent. We had to be HIPPA compliant with medical records, that was a full time staff of 1. We worked with a law firm that specialized in the industry. They handled our contracts. For those 7 years it are up all of our time and was a big part of our lives. It was hard and unpleasant at times. Very few people were hard to work with, but when they were, it could make you rage.

The onlyfans thing opens up an insane can of worms about porn finance though. The most Red Pilling thing I've seen is from the podcast Offbeat/lustcast on youtube. If watch all the episodes about Rocco and Pierre Woodman, you'll see that the european porn industry is heavily involved in trafficking and coercion (i.e. rape).

One reason why exploitation and coercion is such a problem in the industry is because of the attitude of a lot of people outside the industry.

When women (in particular) talk about being coerced or outright raped I've seen victim blaming.

People essentially argue because they are sex workers it doesn't matter if they are sexually abused. Which is like saying if someone is a boxer it doesn't matter if someone jumps in the ring and hits them over the head with a baseball bat.

Also (I've heard this from a couple of pornstars) because the industry has such a stigma, some women believe that to talk negatively about experiences in the industry might involuntarily give support to voices who are against the industry. Because anti-porn activists tend to use experiences of performers talking about struggles, exploitation and abuse in the industry as reasons to shut it down, rather than; for reform, highlighting bad studios/producers to avoid, or helping them find better way to overcome or cope with work related issues.

A lot of people tend to be all or nothing when it comes to the sex industry; either they excuse and trivialize abuse, or think the entire industry is exploitative and abusive.
