Why We Oughta Tip Our Hat to Russia

Folks forget, but it was Russia that handed us Alaska, fair and square, no blood spilled. That wasn’t outta weakness, that was respect. And if you look back, there wasn’t a single war between us and the Russians until all that Nazi mess and NATO meddlin' came around.

Come World War II, we weren’t enemies. We were brothers in arms. We sent them supplies through Lend-Lease because we trusted them to hold the line against evil. And they did.

Truth is, we didn’t have a quarrel with Russia until folks in suits decided we needed one. Before that, it was peace and good sense. Maybe it’s high time we quit barkin’ up the wrong tree and remember who our real friends used to be.

We bought Alaska, dumbass. Or stole it. Almost half a billion acres for $7.2 mil.

Some of the US generals during WWII want to invade Russia because they couldn't be trusted. Turns out they were right.

what a lovely bit of historical revisionism.

Alaska was SOLD by Russia to the united states, who bought the territory for 7.2 million dollars. it was not given with respect, or anything of the sort.

during WWII, the US and Russia only fought together against mutual threats: Japan, and Germany. Even during the war, the US generals were arguing that they needed to continue the war in Europe after the defeat of Nazi Germany, by turning against Russia and to push Russia back to its own borders instead its influence in the whole of eastern Europe it was gaining control over.
And as a result of that not happening, there were nearly 40 years of cold war and proxy wars, in Korea, Vietnam, etc, with Russia proclaiming "we will bury you", etc.

Lend-lease was twofold - it allowed Russia to be an effective second front vs the Wehrmacht, stalling and draining their resources in the time it took the US, UK, and allies to clean up the North African campaign, and enable the preparations for the invasion of Europe. if Russia had not drained German resources on the eastern front, the invasion of France and Italy would've been almost impossible. The second reason was it made American industry extremely rich.

Do you not remember Russia telling Biden "Give us Alaska back or we will nuke you."?
