It could be argued that it is, given that AI generated imagery works by analyzing images for patterns, and trying to recreate those patterns within a set of guidelines. It can never be 1:1 with the source material, which is why you see those videos where an AI will recreate an image 100 times and it'll come out completely different by the end.
