It takes cylinders I know there's a box of what I would think would be vinyl cylinders at my parent's house. I assume the wax ones would look and feel different than the vinyl ones. I don't really know.

It's almost 4am here and I would have to clear out a hallway upstairs to bring down the spring door stairs to venture into the attic and find it. They're not that rare in this area. There's another one at my wife and I's favorite near by restaurant / Inn. The Tara.

Oh yea, the cylinder design is horrible for sound reproduction compared to what became "modern" vinyl records. It really is a huge jump in recording and sound reproduction technology.
One of these days I'm going to have to dedicate a day or two to find it. I know we have media for it. I'm not really sure why my family has one. They couldn't have afforded one when they were new; so I assume it was something like a hand me down or something they found used for cheap when 78's were the in thing or when 33's started selling.

Anyone remember old VR? I played Duke Nukem 3D with one at a county fair in the 90's. It was really heavy and disorienting.

Cylinders strike me as being horrible to store.
I grew up with flat round things some of which were 78s and I can't imagine a shelf full of cylinders surviving the first pet cat attack.
