Jordan Peterson will say that if you say you believe something, your actions will prove whether you reallyyy believe in it. This is very purist of him, but it's true. For example, if you say you are vegan, you don't eat meat or anything that comes from animals. He also comments on his careful purpose and intent with his words and vocabulary, its no surprise he doesn't want to "admit" his belief in God because to him, it would mean that every single one of his actions would count towards whether he really "believed" or not and he knows he is flawed and makes mistakes like everyone else does.
