I want to monetize my hobbies, sure, but why would I want to work for some big company? Im not even like a commie, although I have lots of commie friends. I save the government money by not working.
I have a severely disabled kid with cerebral palsy who needs 24/7/365 supervision, so I'm providing this supervision for free from my own home. They give us about $1,000/mo, and i live in income-based housing which they pay about $400/mo towards plus EBT which is another $350
If I had to work 20 hours a week to get benefits, she would need to be transported to and from a daycare, it would cost a minimum of $45/hr, and the government/medicaid would be on the hook for all of that. If they had me working at mcdonalds 20 hours a week, I'd end up netting about 220/week, and about 30 of that would go to taxes, the government would end up having to pay about $900/week in additional services.

I been unemployed for 3 years. Car accident left me crippled. Won the lawsuit but insurance company had a lien on the lawsuit for greater than the amount we sued for.

5. I deplore debt, and do all I can to avoid it. I would rather live in affordable housing and eat ramen than pay landowners for the privilege of living in their run down hovels (living in a tent is untenable and unrealistic).
6. I believe that my safety is the responsibility of the state. If they want to shift that responsibility onto me, then it should come with a number of granted powers that, arguably, they would not like an individual to have, because I would need them to be able to ensure said safety.
7. I believe that there is no point in making an effort to distinguish myself at work, because there is no incentive for doing so. Hard work is only rewarded with more work.

I'm a software architect. The architect role was redefined at one point to be "consulting on request" of the software teams rather than "get actively involved to make sure they get it right". So I have occasional meetings with the groups to see what's up, they present their architecture to me, I tell them that they're doing a great job, they got this. Basically doing everything i can to make sure they don't bother me with actual work requests. Management loves how empowering I act for the teams. Teams love being told how good they do architecture on their own. I work five to ten hours per week, mostly socializing and telling everyone what they want to hear. Once every two weeks I do an architecture review, looking at diagrams and team produced for an hour and then telling them how good it is. Once every six months I have to work for a week to produce an actual architecture. It's ridiculous.
