We have some cool stuff. If you're ever in Memphis check out the bass pro shop pyramid. Weird little mall in there. But the inner cities are really underfunded. You'll find a lot of dead shopping areas, Chains taking over everything, really high black populations who act how they do when they reach a critical density. Not to be racist, But there is just a way things go when that happens.
The church culture is a little cool, If you're into it. Lots of baptist churches, The come-as-you-are country music types. Local music artists playing in local venues, and it'll be like an 8-year-old who can play the banjo with his grandpa. Kind of a trad charm to it. But that'll tend to be a half hour or so outside of the cities. Little spots out on the highway.
Terrible place to bike, in general. high theft and hilly to mountainous terrain. Lots of large truck culture, too. And it's hard to see cyclists in a tall truck.
