Can someone explain "autosages" to me. I don't understand them, if a thread is off-topic or whatever why don't the jannies just delete the thread outright? But then I've also seen threads that follow the rules perfectly, that has stayed on-topic all thread, get autosaged. Can someone help me understand?

Unless you are talking about threads that hit bump limit they autosage threads they don't like to kill the thread without directly nuking it. Nothing stops them from nuking a thread for no reason though.
