They founded their party in the late 80s/early 90s and set their views (based on a loose understanding of reality with a few misconceptions) in stone. Now they're dogmatically following whatever they thought was right back then, only adapting things to go for stricter bans of anything they don't like periodically. They care less about the environment than about forcing their worldviews and lifestyles onto others these days.
