I was worried about this for long also. But it turned out that my second life only started when I was 27 - I jumped country, and things just started to get going.

Slowly seperate yourself from your current life.
Hop buses to the deep south and find a day labor job that attracts illegals.
You will still be wasting your life but you will be doing it more productively.
