rape seed oil, id grow rather than dig. sping pole style digging is low investment the canadian style will save your joints compared to the american. digging for salt is more stable IMO. soo oil is a carbon thing, but it might be from before bacteria was breaking down trees, looking for plains not oceans id avoid sedimentary rocks if it is from non-rotting tree period.

Petroleum engineer here, before you think about digging for oil, there's a list of things you have to get before you start, notably are:
1. Investment Capital
2. A field team consists of engineer/s and workers
3. Oil rig alongside it systems (there's around 5 of them)
3. a good spot for oil (geological surveys are your best friend here)

and that's just me making it look simple because it's requires more than that in modern day cuz of corporations gatekeeping/work safety requirements

First you’ll have to go out hunting and then shoot at some food. Then up from the ground will be that bubbling crude. Oil, that is. Black gold. Texas tea. Then you’ll be a millionaire to when your kinfolk’ll say “Move away from there! Californie is the place y’outta be!” Then you’ll load up your truck and and move yer family. Specifically to Beverly. Hills, that is. Swimming pools. Movie stars.

Let me tell you all a story about a man named Jed
Saw Ellie-Mae, threw her on the bed
Opened up his zipper and out came a worm
Out came a worm with a bubblin' sperm.

You gotta be really fuckin' old to remember that song.
