Epstein aside, his family all had shady dealings as shown in the contents of that laptop for which Biden gave them blanket pardons on his way out so that nothing could ever be done against them.

The Bidens didn't need to be involved in Epstein shenanigans though, because they had enough of their own dirt against them. The last few months, they've scraped all the docs and tried to find everything in them. They likely found that the vast majority of people in those documents, are Republicans or major donors to the RNC. If it got out, whether or not a case went anywhere, the RNC would be destroyed for decades, where Democrats have already begun ousting their oldest leadership due to in-party spats in 2024. Republicans have only gotten more gentrified. New Dem leadership isn't in those documents, and Reps know that.

This is why we were seeing a lot of "excitement" from the DOJ, then silence, before this recent announcement. It is entirely possible that they hoped we would forget about "Phase 1"
