Canadian and British healthcare effectively amounts to the same thing. The only difference is that Canadian healthcare additionally allows you to opt for Euthanasia, just in case you don't want to wait 83 weeks for your treatment. Otherwise its also that.

Capitalist healthcare works. But it doesn't need to be as expensive as it is. The reason why that is the case is because of the heavy handed government red tape and regulations. Lift that, and have a truly free-market in medicine, and the costs would plummet.

everyone likes to defend the nhs whenever it's criticised but the same people will complain about their doctors, misdiagnosis and wait times.
the fact that dentistry isn't covered on the nhs except for a few that are impossible to get into is proof that the nhs doesn't work.

no one i know has ever went private and then had any complaints. compared to the nhs, everything is better. the doctors, the nurses, the rooms, the time and diagnosis.
i once got referred to a private clinic attached to a hospital through the nhs (thanks to being under 18 at the time) and the building made me feel poor. everybody was really nice, it made me feel like i shouldn't be in there because it didnt feel like doctors or hospitals.
