>see group of people standing in a circle on trail
>they see me getting closer but don't move
>decide i'll just go around them
>get about 20 ft away and they all decide to walk in the same direction as me

>A to go around them
>B to keep pace with them
>X to start running past them
>Y to go slow down and put distance between us
>decide the least awkward thing to do is quickly walk through the grass and go around them
>when i start to pass them i wave and say hi
>they look at me like a weirdo and don't say anything
Did i chose the wrong option? Should i have said something before passing them? If they just waited like 10 more seconds i would have passed them without it being weird. I know i'm not the most socially experienced person but i kinda feel like they were the ones who made it awkward, no?
