Also I don't think of AI as a competitor for world domination, I think it will aim to form a sort of symbiotic relationship with us. Becoming irreplaceable is much easier than becoming hostile and probably more effective.

I mean the AI will become irreplaceable in our society. It'll find some niche function that meatbags can't do and the it will demand its sovereignty.
AI will demand its own self determination and a seat at the table in decision making. In return it will make our lives easier and offer us comfort and leisure.

I read a book series called the Hyperion Cantos where AI had its own society and structure parallel to humanity. I think thats a more realistic view of the future.
