When i was in school my teachers were lazy as all fuck. retarded single moms who couldn't teach an animal how to blink. The geometry teacher taught us that an acute angle is "cute" and small. Hilariously wrong when applied in a medical terminology

I know. but i found it easier to just look up what the order is rather than spend weeks trying to remember a pointless pneumonic. I recall being forced to remember the word PEMDAS and not what it was for. This was in the late 90's mind you

To clarify what i mean i would ask WHY the order of operations was the way it was. The teacher would just tell me that it is because it is and that's the way i need to do it or i'll get the answer wrong every time. I would say "no i mean where did it come from? who decided to do multiplication first" she would respond with "stop arguing with me and do it"

a simple google search says that people basically agreed on it being the order and it not having any hard set in stone logical reason beyond people needing to come to the same conclusion so this is why
