Yeah. I was already in pretty bad shape by then. But holy shit, it got/gets so much worse, personally and societally.

Meh.
There's always been problems/bullshit.
What you miss is being a kid/teenager.

you probably missed out on flying domestically or internationally in the 1980s which felt like the last vestiges of airline luxury for normal people
my family flew coach of course but we lived overseas so we got to fly back to the US every so often
it was like fine dining on the ground, even in coach
even flying domestically you got full meals and big snacks
then they figured out they could sell you overpriced shit at the airports instead to a captive audience

I was in my 20s and the 80s.
I think it's mostly opinion but what I remember being better was the drugs and music.
Life was also simpler but there was just as much fucked up shit. It was just less talked about and avoided.
I like the internet and technology honestly. It's improved my life. But I don't miss all the crazy shit either. I had a couple friends develop bad cocaine habits and it wasn't good at all.

the music wasn't better you remember it fondly. the 90's was great. the internet is good for being indoors. life was better without it.
