my family moved 1500 miles after my sophomore year of high school, so i was only in my new school district for the last two years of high school
most of the other students had grown up with each other, and i was a relative outsider
i made a few friends and even got my first real girlfriend, but after graduation, i moved another 1200 miles away for college
this was before smartphones and social media when home access to the internet was still pretty new and lots of people didn't really use email yet
i kept in touch with a few people from my school by letter and email for a couple years, but that fell off over time
and i don't use social media, so even the few people who might remember me would have to make extra effort to find me
so perhaps nobody remembers, or if they remember, they don't really care
