Anybody in law-enforcement ever come across these license plates?

I see the license plate all the time in my neighborhood. I was wondering how the police deal with sovereign citizen, type people that insist they are traveling and not driving.

I imagine most cops don’t wanna deal with these Looney Tunes and I don’t blame them. I imagine they are a gigantic pain in the ass.

Any of you guys ever have any experience with these people?

I’ve seen a few of the so-called “Sovereign Citizens” on bodycam videos and First Amendment auditor stuff. Not sure how the laws actually apply.

Saw that shit go down on my street. Rental house across the street had criminals and illegals squatting with a section8 whore. When they finally got cleared out, the posted arrest records revealed them to be a whole crowd of thugs from rapists and drug dealers to car thieves and multi-state repeat felons.
But one of them thought he was smarter than everyone, fucker even came to my door and tried to claim "imminent domain" to park stolen cars in my yard after ramming my fence flat. This fucktard was running around with hand written paper "sovereign citizen" plates.
One evening a cop followed him with lights on, I don't think he finally stopped until he got here. Sat on my porch to watch the shit go down. He refused ID kept screaming "sovereign citizen", three more police units arrived blocking him in. In the end they smashed the window and dragged him out, felony warrants, non-reporting sex offender, assault, drug offenses, car theft, gun violations with several in the car, that car was stolen and the police towed it and several other parked on the street after checking VINs.
He was back 2 days later. Hyper-liberal judges in this county.
3 years ago land owner ended up getting daily fines for conditions. The evictions took several units from 2 cities and county sheriff, repeatedly over a couple weeks. Much cleaner around here now.
"Sovereign citizens" are just activists and anarchists with no legal standing, and usually conducting other crimes.

With a ticket. Get enough, win a prize. They're fun to drag out of homes and take possession of their cars. I can't remember much about dealing with them when I was on patrol and a marshal.

They take a lot of time. They often contradict themselves repeatably along with never shutting the fuck up.

One tried to take me to court and contradicted himself 67 times before I lost count. I got the judge to add perjury to his assault charges over his citizenship statement and more. He was assaulting an old lady over payment of imaginary bullshit before a punched him in the eye. I didn't even have a lawyer.
Record them and put them on facebook and the court of public opinion will set things into motion for the problematic ones.

Being a sovereign citizen is just another way of saying you are not a slave. To which the government says "Yes you are." and proceeds to do their thing anyway. Often with increased hostility due to challenging their self proclaimed right to control you.

Depending on what your state requires front or front and back plates. If no legsl plate is present then the vehicle us illegal! Gets ticketed and towed! Those are more of a joke than anything. Like the democratic party!

i'm not in law enforcement, but most of the the interactions i've seen on bodycam or cell phone footage involve the "sovereign citizen" wasting time and resources by trying a variety of magic phrases they saw online that they think are going to cause the cop to throw up his hands a say "ya got me, you're free to go!"

they usually have a bizarre range of misunderstandings about the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence (which is in no way the law of the land) and a lot of them seem to think that the U.S. is some kind of private corporation that operates by the Uniform Commercial Code
it's a weird brew of misunderstood contract law, anti history, and often some kind of mental illness or personality disorder
in the end, it varies a bit from state to state, but if you refuse to provide ID, you can generally be detained until your identity can be ascertained if there is reasonable suspicion that you're refusing to provide your identity to avoid legal consequences
the less you cooperate, the more you up the ante, and in the more unhinged cases, the sovcit moron resists arrest or even attacks the cop, turning a potential traffic infraction into a potential felony

Genuine question here, not totally unrelated.
Why do we need to have "License Plate Registration Tags"(the kind that change colors every couple years), when it's basically all done 'electronically', right? Like, don't cop cars/street lights have visual scanners that can automatically detect when a car nearby has expired tags?
For example, some hoodlums accidentally misplaced my tags and (presumably) placed them onto their car. I recently got a ticketed-warning-note that basically says :

Which is cool I suppose, I'm not mad at a warning per se...
but I am just kind of curious if we're approaching the possibility where we collectively agree that actually, maybe it would make sense to consider lifting the requirement for 'must display sticker on license plate' ordeal?

The part that makes me crazy is the simple fact that it does not work. Ever. Every cop and judge has had to learn about and deal with this shit, and they will not be impressed by it. I have never seen or heard of a single instance where being a "sovereign citizen" has gotten someone out of trouble. Have you?
