I don't. The fact that I'm going to die makes me careless and reckless with my lifestyle. Not in a "sky diving, radical sport, fun" way but in a "do nothing, I'm going to die" way.

just help others. if you are abled bodied then really think about the others that are being fed through a tube right now. capitalize everyday. as long as you are moving right then it doesnt matter when you die. oh well man. life goes on. no point of crying about the inevitable. this bothers me every single day. its unhealthy behavior. its not new either. ever since i was young i would be sad one day i will live without my mother. im the worst son in the world keep in mind. life is rough but you gotta move on

I believe in the cyclic universe theory, anon. The universe is infinite, meaning that there was no beginning and there is no end. The big bang repeats itself infinitely, and this is proved by Hawking radiation. Matter cannot be created or destroyed, so it is converted into radiation in a black hole. The radiation is then converted back into matter in a "big bang."

In a truly infinite timeline, every moment exists eternally in its place, like points on an infinite number line. You are not the destination of that line, you are a point on it. There’s no need to "arrive" at now from the infinite. You always were here, just as the infinite past always was. You didn't travel from infinity. You emerged when the conditions were right: for mind, structure, and complexity.

In an infinite past, you don’t have to cross infinity to reach the present.
The present is simply where you are, in the flow of existence, in a universe that may never have started and may never end—but which, for one fleeting moment, woke up and wondered why.

To answer your question. We won't be dead for all of eternity. We are the infinite universe and we will wake up again and again, infinitely. It is not reincarnation in the Bhuddist sense, but it is close to it.

no but I wish I got to talk on such a thread. I essentially believe in the exact opposite of the big freeze. There is no heat death, but literally just heat, enough heat for a massive atomic explosion into the next universe.

In pic rel, I believe in a repeating version of the decelerating universes on the far left side. On the far right is the "big rip," which is another model that involves a beginning and an end, which is impossible. Matter can not be created or destroyed.

Just remember that something cannot create nothing, and nothing cannot create something. Ask yourself what happened before "singularity." I am surprised more scientists don't ask that question. They just assume that is where all space and time started. To me, that is equivalent to religion's explanations. We cannot be in a spontanious universe that then becomes nothing, it is impossible and frankly it is lazy to think that way. Please research Hawking radiation, as it is the whole basis of my hot ending big bounce theory.

To imagine an infinite past with no beginning, you have to let go of one of our deepest intuitions: that everything must have a starting point. That time is like a rope that is cut somewhere, and you reach the end. But in this view, time is more like an endless fabric, unspooling without origin, without end.

The answer is that it never started.
An infinite past means time extends backward forever. No matter how far you go, there's always more behind you.

There’s no “first moment,” no point where time or the universe began. There’s just a sequence of events stretching back eternally:

Every event has a cause. That cause had a cause. That cause had a cause…and so on, without limit.

It’s not that the universe sat around forever and then suddenly “started.”
It’s that it was always happening.

There’s no origin point to appeal to.

There was no “nothing” before something.

No act of creation—just eternal becoming.

It forces us to abandon the idea that existence needs permission to exist. Instead, it just is unfolding in patterns, cycles, and possibilities, across an infinite past and future.

You are not standing at the edge of a rope, but riding a ripple on an endless sea.

Yeah I have a pretty immoral moral compass. Not certain if I use mortality as the excuse or something else. Have tons of empathy and hate hurting people but will break the law if it gets me what I want without immediate consequences.

It doesn't scare me because the universe and reality are so inexplicable that I feel like I might wake up in some other reality or ascend to a high consciousness that perceives the other 12 dimensions.

But who doesn't want to sleep forever?

Sorry you have a soul which is conscious unto itself, sorry lad.
All your intentionality, unity of mind your entire modes of attention are a function of that. It's a simple, irreducible reality which as it happens for now is united with this body, it's one and the same with it because there's a even higher level unity which contains both the soul and the body, your own personhood.

Try to live life to the fullest to have the minimum amount of regret when it ends.
When it keeps me up at night, I just place my faith and trust in god's kingdom and if that isn't waiting for me, there's nothing I can do about it, so I cope by believing in the universe and time being cyclical, so when I die, I may awaken again in the same body and live the same life with no memory of the past or another body to live another life.
In regards to what I can kinda control, I try to stay healthy, high vo2 max correlates to living longer, my goal is to get rich to both live comfortably, a little longer and if the tech gets that far in my life, I'll replace the failing flesh with trusty robotics while praising my AI overlord in hopes of maybe one day being assimilated into the hivemind.

>AI would be sadistic
You seemed to have missed the nuance of my argument. I wasnt suggesting that the hivemind would be inherently sadistic or use torture for “better results.” Instead, I was questioning its quality of experience, whether constant pleasure would lose meaning without contrast and whether trusting an AI hivemind to prioritize human well being is naive. Your focus on pleasure through monotonous labor sidesteps my deeper point about the potential for an unfulfilling or manipulative hivemind.

But your self awareness comes from your brain, which is part of your body. Or are you referring to something like a brain transplant? I thought you were being cynical about how humans reproducing so much has essentially made self awareness meaningless.

>Matter can not be created or destroyed

Completely incorrect on both counts. Most of your other conclusions are also completely inaccurate.

They sound deep and meaningful to a layperson, but you talk about "Hawking Radiation" and stuff the way Star Trek talks about "graviton particle beams", meaning that you use them in such a way that a layperson would be convinced, but not in such a way that someone who is actually educated - like, formally educated - on the subject would be.

Also you can't even spell simple words like "spontaneous".

You're a fraud. You probably pass as "smart" among dumbasses, but you're not smart. You're just good at bullshit.

No, self awareness doesn’t come from the brain. And many scientists and neurologists are starting to see this, that the brain acts as a receptor of consciousness rather than originator. You are not this body, but merely driving it.

What if we live the same life as the same person in the same universe over and over again? Would sure suck to be someone who had something really terrible happen to him. Like being skinned alive or some shit. He would relive that over and over, lol.

What if it was just propaganda, like the concept of hell and punishment, created because the victim needs a coping mechanism?

It's like commuting to work every day. You know being on the road can kill you, but you do it anyway. You get used to it and the fear goes away and you do what you can to not screw up.

Who said that I was trying to be smart? I was just explaining my viewpoints. I am not going to get into the nitty gritty of the concept of Hawking radiation to a bunch of people on /b/. And please prove me wrong about matter being able to be created or destroyed. It can only be converted into energy and vice versa.

In my theory, you would live that life infinitely, just like you already have lived that life infinitely. You have also lived every other life infinitely. It would probably take an unfathomable amount of bounces for it to happen but it has happened and it always will.

Ah, so that's what you meant.
Well, it is likely that as part of the hivemind, the lack of hormonal impulses would take away serotonin burnout or the entire feeling of being unhappy, because you're no longer human as part of the hivemind.
But even if you're ultimately right, idc, boring conciousness > unconsciously staring into the void
Of course the loving embrace of god in heaven is the best outcome, but once again, that's outside my control.
If the hivemind turns out to be shit and I can't disconnect, I can always take solace in the fact that I'm still technically part of the world of the living.
I'm expecting that it won't be that shit, but either way its a win win in my book.

By making the best out of the time I do have and making sure I recognize and enjoy every positive thing that happens in my life, big and small.

a) You don't know that
b) The alternative is worse

Imagine being the unborn, the immortal, the witness who has to experience every possible state of being, eternally. All the suffering you can imagine, you will have to experience it.

I just accept it. One day I will die. Eventually I will be forgotten. Eventually I will probably be reborn into a new body with a new life and new expediences that will hopefully be better than the shit life I lead now. Death is nothing to fear.

This fucked my life up anon and was the bane of my finite existence. But it turns out that meditation helps immensly by dissolving some illusions. Basically start non dual meditation and one day your fear will be gone. I like waking up. Anyways the least that it will do is calm you the fuck down
