My mom died of cancer. My friend of over a decade had a mental breakdown and hanged himself in his apartment. My wife just told me that I’m a disgrace and wants a divorce. All of this has happened to me in the past year tell me how money is supposed to make me feel any better

Money is rarely a solution for some problems. It does however prevent, lessen, or resolve most problems if you have enough. It can also provide distractions from the things you can do nothing about.
If you don't want the money feel free to give it to me. I could use it. As for the wife try not to get too down about it. If she does not care for you and is unwilling to stick with you through thick and thin then you are probably better off without.

happened to me...
my dad and uncle both died of pancreatic cancer, my grandma died from heart failure, my step father got diagnosed with prostate cancer, and my dog died (old age he was 15)... all in the space of 8 months...
its like gods giant "fuck you" to me for sinning i guess in my life... once it rains, it pours.
