the vegetables are around 2 dollars each. 1 and cents.
the meat is not 5 dollars, more like 7 a piece. sausage and ground beef alone plus the rao's sauce is ~ 7 multiplied by 3. $28 USD at least, round it up to 32 for realism, that's without accounting for tomatoes and onions.

I want to say that's a 50 dollar meal. the only thing cheap is the pasta.
my grocery bill certainly looks that way, $70 on little things, $300 on a weekly purchase of frozen meats for the family to have 3-4 dinners.

When you make pasta, you have a boiling pot of water for pasta and a pan for everything else. Cooking all that shit separately not only fails to blend the flavors but generates excess cleanup

Beef in -> drain
Sausage?
Veg
Sauce

If you're really broke quit buying Rao's and Barilla and go to fucking Aldi and get their pasta which costs half as much as Barilla and is actual durum semolina from Italy. Beef is expensive it's at least $6/pound for tube meat, and is that fucking Kowalski?
You can get a 10 pound giant nigger dick sized tube of beef for about $37 and a box of freezer bags for $3 and save $20 buying in bulk.

I WILL TEACH YOU HOW TO DO BROKE ANON COOKING. NO PICTURES BECAUSE FUCK YOU.
1 POUND OF 73/27 TOOB BEEF ($5.94)
1 PACKAGE OF TACO BELL BRANDED BEEF SEASONING GET THE NORMAL ONE NOT THE MILD ONE ($0.82)
2 PACKAGES OF GREAT VALUE BRANDED VELVEETA SHELLS AND CHEESE ($1.48 EA X2)
OK NIGGA THATS IT. IT'S NOT EVEN $10, AND IT WILL FEED 4 OF YOUR LITTLE BASTARD GREMLIN ASS KIDS RUNNING AROUND
OK SO YOU MAKE THE BEED NORMAL MAKE IT INTO LITTLE PIECES UNLESS YOU LIKE CHUNKS IN YOUR TACO MAC
ONCE ITS BROWN YOU ADD THE SEASONING, STIR IT UP REALLY GOOD, COVER IT, AND SET IT ASIDE FOR 10 MINUTES SO IT CAN REABSORB ALL THE FLAVOR.
THEN YOU MAKE 2 PACKAGES OF SHELLS THEY TAKE EXACTLY 10 MINUTES TO COOK.
STRAIN THAT SHIT U GOT THIS GURL
THEN IN THIS ORDER, YOU PUT THE BEEF IN THE PAN YOU JUST USED TO COOK THE SHELLS, THEN YOU ADD THE SHELLS AFTER STRAINING THEM, THEN YOU ADD THE CHEESE, AND VERY CAREFULLY INCORPORATE THE CHEESE INTO THE SHELLS WITHOUT GETTING THEM ALL BEEFY UNLESS YOU WANT IT DIRTY LOOKING
ADD SOME RED PEPPER FLAKES IF YOU WANT.

Look very closely at that box of Barilla. That yellowing comes from a pasta that has been kiln dried for maximum volume production, you want something that looks more like DeCecco.
Aldi has a bag of pasta called Priano that's like $1 and its real durum semolina, bronze cut, and delicious. Makes great mac and cheese.
also, if you want to cut costs you can buy tube turkey burger, it's usually $2 a pound less than beef and tastes similar.

Since OP posted $30 worth of food, I iwll give real brokeanon meal advice.

1 -look for sale on white beans (cannalini, great northern, lima, whatever. Should be well under $1 a can, probably can get them for 2/$1 or 3/$2 if you watch the sales

2 - get a resealable box of chicken stock. Should be under $1.50 on sale

3 - in a pan, heat up 2 cans of beans. start smashing them with fork or spoon until ~1/3 of the beans are smashed.

4 - add about 1/2 a cans worth of chicken stock, pepper, thyme, basil, oregano (if you have any of them).

5 - simmer until paste forms.

6 - serve with a slice of SPAM

7 - should get 3 servings out of this so roughly $2 a meal, including spam

(cheat code): buy a small spiral ham on sale right after easter, christmas, thanksgiving. cut it up and store in freezer in ziploc bags. Should have no more than a week's worth in any bag. Pull out a bag and eat off it for a week. I last bought one for $0.79/lb from Fresh Market after this past easter. You can also use the ham bone from the ham to simmer with pintos or black beans (bag of dry beans = ~$1.50; makes at least 6 servings) and a chopped onion ($0.75). since the bone is probably about 1 lb (with half that being meat), your cost is about 50 cents a serving. You can make corn bread from scrath for about 15 cents a serving or use one of those jiffy boxes and milk for about 20 cents a serving.

You guys are really overthinking life. The forumla is the same, but without the spam and indigestion. What's wrong with having a $4-$5 meal instead of a $2 meal when it's still less money and better food than eating out?

not where I live at least, and the ones that are in the US are probably neutered

Also happy tomorrow, time for work. Everyone have a great day! Never compromise on your food if you can help it, stress will kill you before bad cooking will.
