No, no, unlike so many other scandals that like to use "gate" in the title, this one's the most similar to Watergate. The fact there's now increasing evidence of a cover-up by government officials, the fact that there's an increasing amount evidence of the president's involvement in said cover-up, the fact that even the president's own party is turning on him (which is what happened to Nixon)--hell, both scandals actually involved a list that was instrumental to them, and both of them were actually a series of scandals instead of just one.

The things they have in common are uncanny.

Before Trump took office, they went to the FISA courts (Foreign information services act) Foreign being the key word there, and informed them that Russia had compromised the whitehouse. The evidence they brought? The famously bullshit pisstape dossier, that they knew was not from Russia and was fake. But they needed evidence to fit their narrative of russian interference, to justify what they were already doing and what they wanted the FISA courts to rubber stamp:

And the FISA court agreed. So they bugged the whitehouse, before Trump arrived. They were planning to remove a US president before he even stepped into the oval office. They were just looking for some excuse, some justification they could use to get rid of him. The NSA director caught wind of this spying and met with Trump, afterwhich he moved his administration to Mar a Lago and held meetings on the golf course away from spying eyes. Remeber they raided Mar a Lago and charged him with the crime of having secret documents there. Now you know why he did.

The democrats did end up impeaching Trump after listening to his calls, for the crime of asking about Bidens corruption in Ukraine. They framed this as "going after your political opponent" and this was why Biden ran for President in 2020 at the last minute, and why the forced him to remain in office despite his declining health.

In short, while they were crying about Russian collusion, the real collusion was between the democrats and 5 eyes spyint and trying to coup Trump.
