>>937540536>96 Quite Bitter BeingsDo you know the lore of that song? How it's part of theme throughout Deron Miller's songwriting catalog, and that the town of Hellview was mentioned in one of Miller's songs from before CKY even existed, and that 96 is part one of a three-part saga?
While there's more to it than this, the trilogy saga is:
96 Quite Bitter Beings, where our hapless narrator and his friends get lost and stumble into the cloudy town of Hellview, population 96, where the hunt begins
Escape From Hellview, where the kids from the first song are being chased by the 96 and picked off one by one. Our narrator swears "I will be the one who will escape from Hellview"
Hellions On Parade, our narrator has escaped Hellview and taken refuge in a neighboring town, but the 96 residents of Hellview will not tolerate a trespasser escaping their justice. The 96 proceed to wreak havoc on this town.
In other songs and references to the 96, we learn that they are the angry spirits of a naval crew who were betrayed and murdered by their captain, and were buried in Hellview like 200 years ago. Now they terrorize and kill anyone who trespasses into their haunted town.
Deron Miller loves his classic 80s horror movies, and came up eith the Hellview lore based on that love of horror. Then he told the story over many years and across several albums
