if your family isn't connected, he's gonna start as low man. teach; banking; police. teaching and policing will pay you to continue your education. policing can pay for pre-law and law school if he wants to be an attorney. teaching can move him through the ranks as an educator. banking same thing with finance. poli sci is only good for managing people, that's the good and bad news. lots of opportunity but very little specifically related. social work if he's a lib. also, probation officer if he wants to be a bureaucrat. once you're in the gov you can make lateral transfers pretty easily. the degree is the end of childhood, now he needs to begin adult struggles. let him feel the pinch now when he's young and can rebound.
