Well they have fucked me and many, many, people I know. There are at least ~100,000 of us that have have had to live with this BS and probably 25-50k that took massive losses because of this.

I have a legal product and a legal company I should be able to sell it but now I can't because Visa stepped in between me and Steam and cockblocked me. This is illegal tortious interference. The rules set an impossible standard.

I also hate the idea that even my vanilla projects are banned in theory. For example if I had a Game of Thrones game it no longer passes the submission rules to steam. It makes no sense and that has to be illegal since it blocks my legal free speech and artistic expression.

That's a good question. I'd make these observations:

The cartel's profits are at record levels and many have net margins over 50% from what I remember.

They paid off their infrastructure long ago so the cost per transaction is probably pennies at most per transaction but they can charge whatever they want because they are a cartel. They maintain their monopoly through legislation and patents that forbid competition.

A roughly identical debit transaction from my bank costs 30 cents I believe so a $100 transaction would cost $100.30 but with a credit card or processor like Paypal or stripe it would cost $103 or 10x more for essentially an identical service. This isn't what happens in actuality, it's more the good costs ~$97 and that 3% charge is added into the cost of goods so the customer never sees it unlike a tax.

Some peer to peer stuff is fairly cheap. I googled the transfer fee for a bitcoin and it was higher than I thought at over a dollar. That sucks for small transactions. I remember the peer to peer stuff being essentially free so I'm not sure what happened.

I also think that the passive nature of their business means they do less. They collect money in an automated process that doesn't require any active input or labor. It's just an automated process that skims off every transaction vs the owners and employees that are doing all the actual work. This is why many places will give you a discount with cash because it costs less and might be off the books. A cash sale is 100% revenue but a credit sale is 100%-3% for the identical sale. 2 people buy the same thing side by side, one cash, one credit - one did not take 3% extra work than the other.

This 3% is justified because my choice is pay 3% or have no sale. This is how the cartel threatens people. For my small business 100% of revenue is through the cartel. For Steam I believe it is about 80-90% - meaning the cartel has us by the balls and we must bow... until we get the strength to rebel.

Mastercard has not evaluated any game or required restrictions of any activity on game creator sites and platforms, contrary to media reports and allegations.

1st stage is to gather research and ideas, probe defenses. Sustained call and email campaign. The cartel has already responded with pure lies. We take these lies and spread awareness. Classic Streisand effect, the more they lie and deflect the more news outlets will cover their BS. We must exhaust all common avenues. There are hundreds of tasks to do, even just listing it out for people to follow.

I think we are near the 4 million core members we need but it is hard to estimate. We need to get this number to 20 million ASAP. We do this by expanding everything we have done so far. More calls. More petition signage (I want 800k-1M on that petition by the end of August). More strategic emails - for example to the "special emails" I posted up in this thread. No one has emailed these people yet as far as I know.

The FTC or whatever European equivalents can be messaged. Local reps. Then we shift to the investment companies, Blackrock, and Vanguard and politely tell them that standing against free speech and artistic expression is a terrible look for their brand.

Email Steam and voice your support for their own payment systems to bypass the cartel while politely voicing your displeasure over their capitulation to censorship. Encourage them to revolt with legal action and alternative payment methods to reassert independence and stand with developers and gamers against middlemen.

Email your senator to support S.401 - Fair Access to Banking Act.
Email your congressional rep to support H.R.987 - Fair Access to Banking Act

Cancel your credit cards and pay off your debts. Choose alternative products like X or Valvepay as soon as they become available. Use crypto. Live frugally. Do not give these people an inch or they will take a mile!

Reach out to all the people with vested interests against the cartel - this list is massive. There is a lot of work here you guys can do. The ideas are endless.

Here are examples that I am doing:
Reach out to local newspaper and news.
Email and message/comment request various influencers to make a statement. The more related to this subject the better but the niche doesn't matter. It's numbers.

Hit up all manner of media you can think of - social media, news outlets for every angle, example financial - loads of stock message boards and publications. Hit relevant talking points for the niche, like why Visa is a good short because all of this brand damage and potential legal liability and upcoming regulation.

Reach out to gaming companies and other creative organizations. No creative wants to be ruled by fucking Visa.

Reach out to weed, business organizations, civil liberties etc. There are 1000s of targets and we need to hit as many of them as possible. Our message is powerful. We only need to spread it.

There are many other angles and strategies discussed and suggested in this thread. We use stage 1 to evaluate and build support and then stage 2 will implement a selection of these strategies, ideally to constantly hit the cardtel from every angle and possible dimension.

We attack them everywhere with everything. Maintaining non violence to continue to hold the moral high ground. Legal / lawsuits. Physical protests. Physical mail. We attack their markets, their stock, we reduce their customers, start a cash campaign where people chop up their credit cards. Complain in person to your bank. Switch to discover. Pray to candle-jack. Use your noodles. Play to your strengths. If your funny - write some jokes and mock the cardtel and the spineless people promoting the utter degeneration of our society.
