Not frequent, less than .1% of schools have had violent events.
Most school shootings are gang related, by gangs headquartered out-of-country and are ethnic minorities.
Guns used are usually illegally acquired, even smuggled in by the blackmarket by gangs.
Media likes hyper-inflating the stories and pushing them for months.
What the US does have is a problem with mental health (mental illness is treated like an honor, including LGBTQP), criminal problem (LEO does their job, judges let them out rapidly), leaking borders (the criminals, guns, and drugs that come in hidden among desperate stupid people who think life will be better in the US but get "homesick" and want to recreate their shitty homeland here which supports and hides foreign criminals), and a diversity problem (too many different "ideals" of how civilization should be, culture clashes just like the Jews need to have inside Israel, from the illegal immigrant thugs in the hood to hyper-conservative religious zealots).
This is aside from the psy-op manufactured "school shootings".
Punish criminals, enforce the gun laws, close the borders, and improve mental health services then the NEWS will only have one school shooting every few years to put on endless loop.
Take away all the guns and nothing will change, there will still be violence and mass killings with the illegal smuggled firearms, knives, cars, and other weapons. My weapon of choice is my 6 pound work hammer.
