For longer wavelengths, resolution is lower. That's why the radio telescopes have to be huge.

Wow, the propaganda.
Thorium fission reactors haven't been perfected. Th-232 is not fissile, it is fertile, meaning it can be turned into fissile material. When Th-232 is bombarded with neutrons, it becomes fissile U-233. U-233's major problem is it's breakdown and daughter products release more gamma radiation than standard U-235. That is there the problem lies. If we can perfect robotics and AI to deal with these products after the fact, Th-232 reactors will be much more attractive.
But ya, the propaganda here only shows the good side and ignores the bad.
The other good thing about Th-232 is it is about as common as Lead is. U-235 is much less abundant and requires enrichment to be useful.

The AK47 design wasn't "revamped" it was temporarily changed due to manufacturing technology restraints. The original design called for stamped metal plates for the gun, which the USSR couldn't reliably do at the time. Those parts were then substituted with a milled reciever (iirc type 2 and 3 were the ones with this) so the rifle could be tested and developed. Once the USSR got it's metal stamping to a high enough quality and reliability, the AK was constructed with a stamped metal receiver and some other minor design tweaks (I think the gas system was one of them?), and to represent these changes these AK's were then designated AKM's
